The positioning of the characters is the same but thats really it. Its not like she traced it or the poses or style is the same :I
Claiming that she "stole it" is a little harsh. At worst it looks like a cartoonish parody and at best its just a coincidence. I mean she's right, I shoot Snipers in the back on Scoot all the time.

Why? The only copyright issue I really see is that its Valve's characters. Even if it had other inspirations it was her drawing that she did in her own style. I sold a painting that was a parody of Vermeer's "Girl with the Pearl Earring", I don't see much difference in the situation. Besides, what'd she make off of it? Ten, twenty bucks? Its not like she ripped the actual picture, matted it, and sold it for a fortune on Ebay. That I can understand being pissed at. But a roughly similar drawing sold for a few bucks? Not that big of an issue.

Oh why? Because it's so obviously "inspired" by that work and your cheery friend there is trying to tell me it has nothing to do with it. Last time I remember when there was a person on DA whose commissions consisted of ripping people's work off, their account was banhammered.

Never said it was inspired by the other piece, I was saying even if it was it wouldn't matter since it was an utter redesign. There is nothing copied except the character's positions, which is a common position for those two to be in in game. Personally I stand by my chica that it was just a bullshit accident.
And would you be cheery to someone if they called you a thief? Knowing her ego and her capacity for violence I'm surprised "Uncheery" is all she's gotten.
If you're really hung up about this, contact someone from DA and have them decide.

You showed me same characters doing the same thing, but here it's a lot more specific. The exact perspective/alignment and the blood spilling unrealistically in all directions. Colors. Too many coincidences for writing it off as unintentional.

And besides, I'm not the only person seeing it. Why are you taking it as some personal insult, even more so in a motherly protective way?

I'd explain the differences between the two and the similarities between the ones I linked but I don't think I'm going to make you see the light. So believe what you want. I'm sick of arguing.
